LGFA achieves carbonzero certification from Toitu Envirocare
We are proud to announce that New Zealand Local Government Funding Agency Limited (LGFA) has achieved certification as a Toitū carbonzero organisation.
Toitū world leading carbon neutral certification is supported by scientific research and international best practice.
By partnering with Toitū Envirocare, LGFA have been able to accurately measure our greenhouse gas emissions and put in place strategies to manage, reduce and offset impacts in accordance with ISO 14064- 1:2006. Where LGFA are unable to eliminate future emissions, these will be offset through the purchase of high-impact carbon credits from a Gold Standard-certified international project.
LGFA Chief Executive, Mark Butcher, says LGFA has committed to a low carbon future with our first target being to cut per employee emissions by at least 30% by 2030. LGFA recognizes the importance of carbon footprint reduction and will look to ways to achieve this goal through how we operate our business. We will also actively encourage our council members to follow a similar path.
